Fast foods may have been the meal of choice for many busy families through the last couple of decades. But now the slow cooked, home-prepared meals are gaining in popularity! Crock pots, with their wafting aromas beef and vegetable stew with beer 'ready to eat' meals, entice health-conscious, busy people.

Day One: Got up from bed early. Started with exercises that lasted for 40 minutes. Focused on stomach crunches as weight loss is targeted on belly area. Cycled around the housing area. Took a breather in the garden. Freshened up and had a light breakfast of fruits,oats and green tea. No sugar. No honey. No milk. Lunch was made up of a tuna sandwich,fruits and green tea. If you're going to freeze it, don't use potatoes as their texture changes when frozen. Barley is a great whole grain add-in that is soft and small for toddlers to handle.

Brownies: The brownies only come in one flavor (chocolate) although there are some chocolate chips sprinkled on top. These are very good even though there's not as much variety.

Getting kids to eat vegetables can be a challenge but only if you make it one. If your child has tried a vegetable and they really do not like it, then move on to a new one. There are plenty to try. Remember the five tips: Start young, Parents eat your veggies too, Call the vegetable by another name, Let kids pick their favorite vegetable out and let your children help you cook them.
